WHO
WE ARE
More than a coffee, a history:
Café de los Arrieros, is a company from Tolima born in 1999, as a tribute to the ancestral coffee history of the region has its roots in the traditions of the legendary coffee growing families coming from Sonsón-Antioquia, who bravely and on muleback, crossed the mountains and colonized the fertile and picturesque lands of the north of Tolima, settling in Fresno and Herveo. Leaving a footprint of knowledge, tradition and dedication to coffee transmitted by families headed by Vidal Trujillo, father of the founder Nicolás Trujillo, who in posthumous tribute, took the histories generated by the muleteers, icons of the Colombian coffee culture, to give life to Café de los Arrieros.
With more than 20 years we have built a history of success, based on unparalleled experiences, throughout its trajectory managing to generate wellbeing for the coffee growing families, through the commitment with the territory by means of sustainable practices, support in their training, fair and dignified payments. With an international positioning, we have participated in fairs and commercial visits, taking Colombian coffee to different parts of the world, positioning it as a high quality product and being proud ambassadors of specialty coffee at an international level.
Each cup of Café de los Arrieros represents the hard work, love, passion, commitment and history of the coffee growing families of Tolima. We invite you to be part of this journey, where each cup of coffee is unique in flavor and aroma, more than a simple beverage, it is a bridge that connects people, cultures, places and hearts that transcends borders and unites us in a shared cause: to build a better future for the coffee growing families, their communities, the environment, and to endure the legacy of Colombia as a coffee power.
Behind the aroma, a history
Nicolas Trujillo, founder of Café de los Arrieros.
Coffee grower and social-community leader, his passion for coffee began to grow in a coffee region in the department of Tolima. Being a descendant of coffee grower parents, he acquired the knowledge and inherited a taste and passion for coffee, which pushed him to become a specialist in the subject, to later venture into the business of commercialization of coffees and related products.
He has advised and led development projects, coordinated national specialty coffee fairs, and with his knowledge he has promoted the growth of the coffee sector.
In Nicolás we find the passion and experience for specialty coffee, the social commitment with the territory and its people, and an entrepreneurial spirit with human warmth.
